Happy New Year!
I hope your December was filled with great company, plenty of festive fun and that you are looking towards this New Year with optimism and confidence that you can make something great of 2018.
Thank you for all your hard work!
It never ceases to amaze me, all the amazing things people manage to achieve. Watching people progress through the months and take control of their lives is both incredibly rewarding but also massively inspiring.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your hard work to make positive changes in your life.
Our job as Solution Focused Hypnotherapists is to give you the knowledge and tools to discover how to make changes yourself. All of the changes you make are completely of your own merit and you should be proud of every time you even considered a different, more positive approach.
Each tiny change paves the way for greater and greater things and I wish you the very best in your future steps on that path towards your new goals.
Top 3 most treated issues in 2017.
A common question I am asked is “what is the most common thing you treat?”
This top 3 is based on what people originally state their issues to be in the consultation. Many people end up changing more than they originally had planned , for example, sleeping issues might not have originally been mentioned but so many people find that their sleeping patterns need improving so worked to change that along the way.
1. Depression and/or Anxiety
2. Sleeping Issues
3. Panic Attacks
Depression and/or anxiety. These, are not surprisingly the most common things I have treated this year as they are such widely spread issues in today’s world. People suffering with depression and/or anxiety issues respond so well to Hypnotherapy that it’s not really any wonder it is so popular.
Sleeping issues. It is no surprise for this to be in this top 3. Sleep is usually the first thing to be affected when we are struggling with other aspects of our lives. And vice versa, when our sleeping isn’t in proper working order, we quickly develop other issues. Sleep will always be something talked about in therapy because it plays such an important role in our lives.
Panic attacks. I’ve seen more of this in the last 12 months, and again this is probably due to how well Hypnotherapy works to treat this issue. In the consultation people learn what panic attacks actually are and can then understand how it is we address them.
I made some positive changes too.
Another question I often get asked "does being a Hypnotherapist help you to make changes?" And I can say yes, it absolutely does.
There will always be goals to work towards and positive habits that need maintaining. Knowing how the brain works and keeping my stress low through self hypnosis and Hypnotherapy CD's helps me continue to identify what needs changing and how to get on with it.
2017 has been a year for exercise and health for me. After seeing some incredible changes in my clients as they took control of their health, I decided that it was finally time I found out what's inside that dreaded place known as "the gym".
It turns out - after the initial nerves - I love going to the gym! And after the amount of food I've eaten this Christmas I'm looking forward to getting there more often in 2018 and getting that pesky number on the scales back to where it should be!
What we were up to in 2017.
Developments behind the scenes working with Emma from Old Town Hypnotherapy have lead to exciting new changes in 2017 and to new ideas we will be looking to explore in 2018.
The Facebook page www.facebook.com/oldtownhypno has turned into a thriving online presence thanks to the work of our Facebook manager who manages to keep the page full of humour and insight.
We also started work online via Skype! Hypnotherapy via Skype has been received really well with people attending Hypnotherapy from all over the UK and even overseas! Skype will be something that will continue to be offered in the New Year.
Home visits have also become available to allow access of Hypnotherapy to even more people who may not have the option of attending in person or over Skype. I currently offer home visits within Exeter and the surrounding areas, to see the prices please click this link: www.oldtownhypnotherapy.com/costs
The free CD is now on YouTube!
In response to issues people have experienced with SoundCloud, I have worked hard to develop video versions of my Home Hypnotherapy CD!
The issue is the “autoplay” feature that can sometimes cause booming dance music to play just as you are drifting off to sleep after the CD has finished. Not very relaxing!
Please note: YouTube has the same “autoplay” feature but it is much easier to find and turn off. Usually just below the video on mobile devices and top right of the screen for desktop.
Please click on one of the photos below to find either the day time track or night time track on YouTube.
Please give the video a “thumbs up” if you’re happy this is now available on Youtube! And I’d be very grateful if you could “subscribe” to my channel.
Also, please take time to admire the short animation of moving text and lines at the start of the video...It’s deceivingly simple appearance took far more precious hours of my life to create than I would care to admit!
More Hypnotherapy CD's??
For a few years now I have been receiving requests for more CD's as some people say they get bored with repeating the old one.
Actually, repetition is how we learn so it’s beneficial to stick to use these repeatedly but I am happy to say that I do intend to be working on additional tracks for you to enjoy in 2018! Exciting stuff!
To look out for these in the future, please subscribe to my YouTube channel.
My New Years Resolution.
This year my new years resolution will be doing the "couch to 5k", where people work up to being able to run a full 5 kilometres from potentially no running experience at all.
I seldom even attempt to run and when I do it’s not long before I’m a wheezing wreck...so I'm excited to be working on this in 2018 with my partner. And who knows, I may even end up enjoying going for a run!
