Being confident in yourself is the ability to approach something without being held back by fear of failure.
That can be; meeting new people; attending a job interview; taking a driving test (or any other test); trying something new; asking that certain somebody if they fancy a drink or even just simply speaking to people in a calm and comfortable way. And if we do mess up, having confidence allows us to handle that failure, not dwelling on it and getting back up and giving it another shot.
Whatever having confidence means to you, having a perceived lack of confidence can leave you feeling down and can hold you back from doing the things you want to do.
So what can be done about it?
The reason I said, “perceived lack of confidence” is because confidence is all in the mind, something you already have.
We are all more confident when around friends or family that we are comfortable with. Just like we are all likely to be less confident if surrounded by new people, who seem intimidating, and we were already having a pretty awful day.
This proves you already naturally know how to be confident; it’s all about training the mind to keep that confidence when we need it the most.
In Hypnotherapy we do just that, I will teach you all about the brain and how it can often be working against us when we struggle with confidence.
Through Hypnosis we can access the subconscious areas of the brain, adapting the mind to new ways of thinking and behaving in order to build confidence and self belief. This is sometimes known as “rewiring” the brain by creating new neural pathways.

Because of how Solution Focused Therapy works, it is not necessary to discuss sensitive issues of the past to try and discover some underlying cause that might be the reason for our lack of confidence. It's not pleasant and is not at all required to be able to make long lasting positive changes in our life and effectively build our confidence and self esteem.
I also won't be telling you what to do, my job is to help you discover your own path because you are the expert of your own life.

Confidence can be just as, if not more important for children as it is for adults. When we lack confidence, we are reluctant to get involved and as a result we can miss out and can feel defeated.
I am fully DBS checked (used to be called a CRB check) and able to work with children and vulnerable adults.
Also, If you feel they would be more comfortable receiving Hypnotherapy at home then I offer home visits as well for Exeter and the surrounding areas. Please note that prices for home visits are higher and there is a charge for the initial consultation too. This is to cover travel costs and time taken for travel.
