Sleep is an important tool that allows our bodies and minds valuable time for rest and recuperation.
But sleep has another important job. Around one fifth of our sleeping patterns consist of REM sleep (Rapid Eye Movement), characterised by flickering eyelids; muscle twitching and vivid dreaming. During this time our mind is working away behind the scenes to remove stress and keep us operating at our best.
Playing such an important role in our lives, it’s no wonder that when you’re not getting enough good quality sleep it really starts to affect your life. Vice versa, sleep is also one of the first things to be affected if things aren’t going well in life.
What is insomnia.
Insomnia is when we have issues falling asleep or staying asleep, in extreme cases people get very little or even no sleep at all! Some symptoms of insomnia or sleeplessness are; lack of focus; irritability; low energy and lack of motivation.
Can Hypnotherapy help with sleep?
Yes it can! In fact, sleep is the number one, most popularly treated issue in Hypnotherapy because even when somebody doesn’t present sleeping issues as the main issue they’re looking to treat, if they’re struggling with other symptoms, it’s almost an absolute given that their sleep isn’t going well either.
